Working with home owners to build new houses to meet their needs with special interest in Passivhaus, Sustainable Design, Low Energy, Low Carbon and “Eco” constructions.
During the 1980’s Haydn Bennett started to develop low energy buildings whilst working for a regional health authority. In the case of a Community Hospital, the developed design reduced the predicted energy consumption to below half of the maximum allowable under the Building Regulations at that time.
Since the forming of the practice in 1990, energy reduction has been a feature of many of the projects with many new houses, extensions and conversions being significantly better than the minimum required to meet the regulations.
This interest has been expanded with designing to very low energy standards including the adoption of the Passivhaus standard for most new houses and, where possible, incorporating materials with low embodied energy and from low carbon and sustainable sources.
